Amusements are necessary for leading a normal life. Prolonged work breeds monotony and creates tension and anxiety. After a hard day's work, one needs relief. Amusements bring diversions and restore the healthy tone of life and gives us strength and nerve to fight.
Amusements vary from man to man, from city dwellers to villagers. No doubt the scope of amusements for villagers are rather limited. Occasional jatras, kirtans, fairs, melas, religious festivals, puppet shows are some of the different sources of amuse.nent in the village. In cities there are cinemas, theatres, cultural programmes and circuses that offer amusements. Besides, radio programmes, sports and games, television and music cater for the needs of the city dwellers. We should be careful to choose some desirable forms of amusements. Healthy and good amusements are always welcome.
Amusements could be educative and informative too. The degrading amusements can give us only temporary pleasure and these should be carefully avoided.
