THE PEN IS MIGHTIER THAN THE SWORD

The proverb means that the pen of the writer bears a greater importance and exercises an influence on men and the world than a military conqueror. Many great military men have conquered many states but their conquests have perished into the deep abyss of eternity. Their victories had little influence on the people of the world because a conquest by sword is not permanent. It can subdue the people but can not win their heart. People become oblivious of the conquest of an army man. A sword is a symbol of power but not of love. On the other hand the writings of the great writers leave an enduring impression in the heart of the people which can not be effaced out. They are treasured up in human heart. The conquest of a military man is confined to certain parts of the world but the writings of the great writer exercise influence on the people of the entire globe. With the passage of time the conquest of a military man melts into nothingness and is forgotten after his death.
