SWEET ARE THE USES OF ADVERSITY

Life is not a bed of roses. There are ups and downs in every man's life. There is no unmixed blessings on earth. In our life we experience both success and adversity. We feel happy at our success but we are unwilling to face any adversity in life. But it should be borne in mind that adversity is rather a blessing for us because it reveals a man's true ability. Adversity removes our idleness, makes us prompt and active. It develops our latent powers which make us well equipped to fight against the misfortunes of life. It makes a man conscious of his defects. A man in adversity feels the dire urge of sympathy and kindness. So adversity teaches a man to cultivate good qualities of head and heart. It purifies his mind, ennobles his character and develops humanity in him. A man who has suffered adversity can best realize the sufferings of others. On the other hand who has not tasted the bitters of adversity can not feel the sorrows and sufferings of the distressed. So it can be said that adversity is a blessing not a curse.
