Examples of Subordinating Conjunction

Subordinating conjunctions are words that connect dependent clauses to independent clauses in a sentence. They help establish a relationship of dependence between the two clauses. Here are many examples of subordinating conjunctions:

1. Although: Although it was raining, we went for a walk.
2. Because: I stayed home because I was feeling sick.
3. Since: She has been studying hard since she wants to pass the exam.
4. After: After the game ended, they went out for dinner.
5. Before: Finish your homework before you watch TV.
6. Until: They played games until it got dark outside.
7. When: I will call you when I reach the airport.
8. While: She listened to music while doing her household chores.
9. If: If it rains, we will stay indoors.
10. As: She worked hard as she wanted to impress her boss.
11. Though: Though he studied well, he failed the test.
12. Unless: I won't go outside unless it stops raining.
13. Provided that: You can borrow my car provided that you bring it back before 7 PM.
14. In case: Take an umbrella with you in case it rains.
15. Even if: I will still come to the party even if I'm a bit late.
16. Whether: I don't know whether he will come to the meeting or not.
17. Wherever: Wherever you go, I'll be with you.
18. As if/though: She acted as if she knew everything.
19. After: I went to the mall after I finished my work.
20. Although: Although he studied hard, he didn't pass the exam.

Remember that subordinating conjunctions are used to create complex sentences, where one clause is dependent on the other. The dependent clause cannot stand alone as a complete sentence.
