NOTE:    The verbs ending in -e drop the letter when -able is added, except after a soft c (s), after a long g (z) : peaceable, changeable, etc.                                                                                      The verbs ending in y change their last letter to i (justify becomes justifiable). Also note that the words like likable, namable, salable may be spelled with or without an e. Certain dictionaries recommend the dropping of the e.
