Amusements are things which make time pass pleasantly. Man is always preoccupied with many jobs. He spends most of his time in wordly affairs. But continuous work makes our life monotonous which results in tension and anxiety. After day's hard work, we require mental relief. Amusements can relieve us from our monotony and provide us with new energy to start a work afresh. Amusements are of different kinds. They differ from place to place and man to man. The amusements of a city dwellers are not the same as those of the villagers. The people of towns enjoy more facilities of amusements than the villagers. Jatras, fairs, folk songs, melas, puppet shows are common sources of amusements of the village people. On the other hand in towns there are different sources of amusements A city-dweller can have amusements from cinemas theatres, cultural programmes, radio, television, games and sports etc. But they have also their dark sides. Obsence amusements, instead of dei any welfare, do much harm. So, we should always be careful of choosing right types of amusements
