। Tag Questions Rules & Exercises

TAG QUESTIONS

Question Tag: Question Tag is basically Echo Question. It is called Echo-Question as the practice is to repeat or echo some words used in the statement or sentence. Question Tag is tagged in the shortest form at the end of the sentence to authenticate the statement or to know one's agreement or disagreement to the statement.

Classification of Question Tags:

Question Tags are mainly of three kinds. They are -
(a) Affirmative Question Tag.
(b) Negative Question Tag and
(c) Same Way Question Tag.

Such as:
(i) Negative statement + Affirmative Question Tag.
(ii) Affirmative statement + Negative Question Tag.
(iii) Negative statement + Negative Question Tag.
(iv) Affirmative statement + Affirmative Question Tag.
