Regular Verbs and Irregular Verbs

REGULAR AND IRREGULAR VERBS 

The form of the verb changes with time. Such a change is called Conjugation in English.
According to tense, the form of verb is changed and the change of this verb is called Conjugation of Verb.

There are three main forms of verbs.
E.g.
(i) Present (ii) Past and (iii) Past Participle.

Verbs are divided into two parts in terms of conversion: regular verb and irregular verb. 

1. Regular Verb: The Verbs which are changed from base from to Past and Past Participle forms adding t, d or ed are called Regular Verb.

The regular verbs are also called Weak Verbs.

Examples:

Present - Past - Past Participle
Kill — Killed — Killed
Die — Died — Died
Lend — Lent — Lent


2. Irregular Verb: The verb that is formed past tense and past participle from the base form by changing the vowel in the body of the base form in an irregular order without adding d, t, ed, etc. is called Strong Verb or Irregular Verb.

The irregular verbs are also called Strong Verbs.

Examples:

Present - Past - Past Participle
Abide — Abode — Abode
Bear — Bore — Born
Befall — Befell — Befalllen
