We have to take our lunch at 1-00 p.m. At 1-30 p.m. we again go to class and come back to the hostel at 4-00 p.m. At 5-00 p.m. we go to the playground and play deferent games. After playing for an hour we come back to the hostel. Just after evening prayers, we start preparing our school lessons. Dear Mamun,
I have received your letter in time. I feel really sorry when I learn that you are not disciplined and regular
in your daily life. But, it is necessary for all of us to keep fit in order to live a good and happy life. I should
like to tell you how important it is for you to be disciplined and regular in your daily life. As you are a student, your first and foremost duty is to be attentive and regular in your studies. You must be regular and punctual in attending your classes at school. You should obey the rules and regulations of your school and follow the instruction of your teachers. Your homework too, should be done in time. Never leave away anything for tomorrow which you can do today.
You should give importance to discipline not only at school but also at home. You should have your meals at the right time everyday. You should make it a habit to go to bed before midnight and get up early in the morning. I know you are a good boy and hope you will follow my advice. If you follow my advice, I am sure that you will cut a good figure in the SSC Examination and shine in life. Convey my best regards to father and mother. With good wishes to you and all.
Your loving brother,
Jamil.

03. In your college there is a tradition to bid a formal farewell to the Degree Examinees. Such a programme has recently been held. Write a letter to your friend describing the farewell programme.
January 2, 2014
Shantinagar, Dhaka 1217
Dear Friend,
I have received your letter in time. A sad memory of a farewell ceremony often haunts me. It was held to bid farewell to the Degree candidates of our college yesterday.
The function was held in our college auditorium. The Principal was in the chair. All the teachers were on the dais. A student of B Sc 1st year conducted the programme. The function began with the recitation from the holy Quran. A student of B Com 1" year read out the farewell note. After that a few outgoing students spoke on the occasion. Recalling their memories, they advised the students to follow their teacher in order to build up their careers. Then a senior teacher spoke. While speaking he burst into tears. There was a pin drop silence. Some students could not but weep. After the Principal's speech, all the outgoing students attended a dinner. They all left the college in the afternoon. But before leaving they greeted the teachers by touching their feet. Each of them was given a book and a red rose.
The day is gone. But the memory still pains me to think that we have to leave the college one day.
With love to you.
Yours ever,
Najma.

04. Suppose, you are interested to enjoy a cricket match. Last week you enjoyed a world cup cricket match on TV. Write a letter to your friend expressing your feeling and experience.
The 2nd January, 2014
New Market, Dhaka-1205
My dear Friend,
I have received your letter in time. Many thanks for your letter. I am not very interested in games. But I felt curious to watch the World Cup Cricket match between Bangladesh and Australia on TV. I am now writing a few lines about it.
Bangladesh won the toss and batted first. The starting seemed to be very propitious for Bangladesh. But only two hours later, the trend of the game was unfavourable for our team. By this time three strong and steady Bangladeshi batsmen were bowled out and caught out. The game was very contesting. When Bangladesh could score only 182 runs, all the innings was over. We all in the room lost our keen Interest. Two cricket fans broke into violent tears when Bangladesh failed to score 200 runs to qualify for the quarter final. However when our Bangladesh team started fielding we expected a good performance. But the opponent team was very strong and expert. The batsmen of the Australian team outdid our Bangladeshi bowlers. Our team could not outplay them in bowling and catching. Now the situation was very disappointing for us. When the innings was not yet over, we found the Australian team scoring 184 runs. Thus the finishing was very discouraging for us. The Australian team was declared winner. We lost our spirit. My heart began to burn for being defeated though there was much possibility of our victory. I think you watched the game. If not, thank you for not witnessing the defeat.
Hoping to hear from you. Yours ever,
Dipali.

Dear Edmund,
My cordial love to you. Hope you are well. I have received your letter in time. I am very glad to learn that you are much interested to know about my country. Let me tell you about our dear motherland. Bangladesh is in Asia. Dhaka is the capital of Bangladesh. Its natural scenery is charming and attractive. Many crops like rice, wheat, sugarcane, vegetables, tea, jute etc, grow here abundantly. Rice is the staple food. People also eat fish, meat, wheat, vegetables etc. All people in Bangladesh speak Bangla, English is a foreign language but we put much importance on English. Many people here speak in English. Most people in the country are the Muslims. Besides, there are the Hindu's, the Buddhists and the Christians. There are also tribal people here. The hospitality of our people is world famous.
Most people of our country wear lungi and shirt. People observe various festivals gorgeously. Cox's Bazar with the largest sea-beach in the world and the biggest mangrove forest in the Sundarbons are our national assets which have recently been included to the world heritage site.
Bangladesh is called the riverine country. The Padma, the Meghna, the Jamuna and the Brahmaputra are her main rivers. The Jamuna Multipurpose Bridge on the mighty river Jamuna is the connecting bridge between North ans South. Kazi Nazrul Islam, Jasim Uddin, and Shamsur Rahman are our famous poets. No more today. Write to me about your country, I am well.
Yours ever

Dhaka.
Dear Aklima,
How are you? I am sanguine of your good physique. In your last letter you wanted to know how I am now living in the present house and also you wanted to know about the structure of my house. For your Information I'm giving a description of it. Well, the house in which I'm living is a multi-storeyed mansion. It is modernized and good looking. My father has hired one of the flats of this mansion. In the house, all the modern facilities are available. They
are very helpful for leading a peaceful life. The toilets, bath-rooms, bed-rooms, dining-rooms, balcony are
properly fitted. I'm happy to live in such a house. Though the house rent is very high, the service is not negligible.
I think, you will feel happy on hearing my smooth feeling living in this present house.
No more today. More when we meet next.
With love
Yours ever
Hasu

09. Imagine you enjoyed a film recently. Write a letter to Majnu by name about the film.
June 20, 2014
3, Central Road,
Dhaka.
My dear Majnu,
I am very glad to have your sweet note. Hope you are well. My Degree Exam was over. So I decided to enjoy a good film in Star Cinema Hall. I found a long queue in front of the cinema hall for tickets. I got my ticket earlier. I only showed my ticket at the door and took the seat allotted to me. I passed a few minutes. in seeing the scenery/scenes on the wall. The bell rang and the screen rose. The film was 'Abar Tora Manush Ha' by Khan Ata- a renowned film director. In the film he has shown the anarchic condition of Bangladesh just after her independence. Some people of other sections took arms in their hands. The students instead of attending to their lessons would copy openly in the examination hall. Many business men became very corrupted. They had no sense of right and wrong. They only knew money.
What I really experienced in the film can not be described in words. I hope, this letter will find you hale and hearty. No more today. More when we meet next.
Your lovingly,
Rumana.
