Intensifier কাকে বলে? এটি কত প্রকার ও কি কি?
Intensifiers হচ্ছে এমন কতগুলো শব্দ যেগুলো adverb অথবা adverbial phrase হিসেবে বাক্যে যেকোন শব্দ বা বিষয়বস্তুকে আলাদাভাবে অতিরিক্ত জোর প্রয়োগ করা বোঝানোর ক্ষেত্রে ব্যবহার করা হয়।
Intensifiers are adverbs or adverbial phrases that usually describe things which are extreme, highly dramatic, forceful and enhance the meaning of the word or phrase.
Example:
- The scenery was extremely beautiful.
- I’m extremely
- The mangoes are quite big in size.
- I strongly disagree with your proposal.
There are many types of Intensive word forms or expletives or intensifiers.
Two types of Intensifiers are described below:
- Intensifying Adjectives
- Intensifying Adverbs
Intensifying Adjectives:
Intensifying Adjectives সাধারণত noun এর উপর জোর প্রদান করে তাকে modify করে।
Intensifying adjectives modify nouns.
Example:
- She is crazy to hug him.
- He has done the right thing.
Intensifying Adverbs:
Intensifying Adverbs সাধারণত verbs, adjectives and other adverbs এর উপর জোর প্রদান করে তাদেরকে modify করে।
Intensifying adverbs commonly modify verbs, adjectives, and other adverbs.
Example:
- The scenery is really very beautiful.
- I’ll obviously miss you.
- He is working very hard to do well in the examination.
Uses Intensifiers:
Intensifiers may be used as attributively or predicatively.
Example:
- This is really an interesting incident. (Attributive Intensifier)
- This incident is really (Predicative Intensifier)
